style notes

the Otis James Field Cap is inspired by military and work caps of the mid 20th century. it is intended to be a versatile companion, both in form and function. the peak is stiffened with a heavy canvas, allowing it to easily be worn flipped up or down. the malleable peak also allows for extreme pack-ability. roll it up, stuff it in your pocket, and worry not. the Field Cap is ready for adventure! each cap is individually handcrafted with strong attention to detail in my studio in East Tennessee.

care

if your Otis James Field Cap becomes soiled,
hand wash or gentle cycle - cool water. gentle soap if needed.
air dry or tumble dry on low heat.

* i recommend putting the cap on your head before it is fully dry. the cap will be tight at this point but should stretch to fit your head within a short period of time. the cap will naturally relax in fit as it dries, but to help with the stretching— grab the peak with both hands and pull forward while rocking the cap side to side on your head. this will provide a perfect, personalized fit as the cap molds to your head.

sizing

to properly determine your cap size, measure the circumference of your head at the widest part, or where your caps generally sit, using a soft measuring tape or string and ruler. always measure a few times to determine the maximum measurement. see the chart below to determine your size. (measurements are all +/- 1/8")

i recommend buying a cap that will fit snug (not tight) upon the first wear. with just a little bit of time, the cap will shape and mold to your head, providing the perfect, comfortable fit.

*everyone wears his or her cap differently and every manufacturer has different size specifications. i developed my size chart based on inch measurement with 3/8" increments between sizes.
